A sketchy challenge

Having 3 boys sometimes can prove difficult as you end up with the same photo for each of the boys albums, thats scrapping one photo, three times, three different ways! Phew! This is where sketches come in handy when the mojo is waning at the 2nd layout! Thanks to Scrapfriends, they came to my rescue with this great sketch that I could use up the smaller photos I had printed.

And remind me next time to co-ordinate the boys outfits a little more, I mean for crying out load, the look like Josephs Technicolour Dream Coat!

So here is the sketch...

And here is my take…

123 Get Scrappy Challenge Board

Hi guys, I cannot believe that another month has come around already and I'm doing another challenge at 123 Get Scrappy. This time the recipe I chose was Stitching, Colour Orange, and 3 or more Patterned Papers. I love the colors aqua and orange together so I thought that would work great with the photo of James I had at swimming lessons. I'm big on white space at the moment but I wanted to add another dimension to the white to represent the water of the pool... then SPLASH! I found this awesome splash image on my silhouette that I cut in vellum to give that dimension that I was after. Worked really well!

Getting scrappy

Hi guys. I'm sure you are all aware of the magic of modeling paste and how it can add such a gorgeous dimension to your layout without taking over. Well I love it! My problem is that I don't have a lot of masks to use so I'm making my own on the Silhouette, which is great as it means I can use a variety of different designs I have in my Silhouette library.

For the latest challenge at 123 Get Scrappy, I chose the row of Tree/Rhinestones/Washi. It was a great chance to try out my woodgrain design (hence the tree theme) from the Silhouette. I also do have a stash of the gorgeous new Washi from the MME Chalk Studio collection which I've been procrastinating about too, so this Challenge kicked me into gear for that too.

This is a special photo, my gorgeous James with his Grandad, my Dad, who we love to bits. The quote seemed to fit just so well.

Unfortunately the photos probably don't give the woodgrain design justice, but I hope you like...

Retreat time again...

I have just come back from the Scrappin Patch Retreat at Glentui over the weekend and I'm still in Scrapbooking heaven. 2 days of uninterrupted scrapbooking. I missed my children, I did, but there is something to be said for surrounding yourself for a time with women who all have that common goal...to churn out as many layouts as they can. It was fabulous. And it was a great chance to give my 12x12's a bit more attention. So with 16 achieved, here are my results, not a bad weekend's effort really..

On a bit of a roll...

Yes, yes I am. The only problem with being on a layout roll is that I feel that I'm neglecting my Project Life though I am only a week behind, so no major.

This week I took part in ScrapFriends latest sketch challenge. It was great inspiration to use my Silhouette to cut the chevron arrows but to fold them in a more dimensional effect, I really liked it.

so here is my take...

Thanks for looking, leave some love.

Sketch 356

I recently came a across a great site for Challenges, Scrapbook Challenges, and loaded my first one with them today. I can't believe how grown up Louie looks in this photo, it scares me! In a few months we will be celebrating his 2nd birthday, with relief (as I survived), and sadness (no more babies for me), birthdays can have that effect on me.

Looking at this photo, it fills my heart that Louie has got 2 sets of wonderful Grandparents that absolutely adore him. And the feeling is totally mutual. I remember that feeling as a child, an overwhelming sense of security and love in the presence of my Grandparents. They loved me honestly and openly, isn't that a wonderful thing! There truly is no love like a grandparents.....

A busy wee Bee

Well I have been, very busy! Not only have I survived the school holidays, wiped a lot of snotty noses, collected several lice eggs, and established Media Free Mondays (...YES!) much to J1 and J2's disgust, I have also scrapped. A lot. Maybe it is what has got me through those 2 weeks of torture that they call School Holidays. A friend of mine recently said they weren't long enough for her, she would've preferred another week or two. I stared at her blankly. Is she kidding, or am I such a bad mum that I welcomed Banks Avenue, complete with pot holes, back with eagerness. Anyhow, peace has somewhat been restored.

And thanks to my Silhouette my scrapbooking sanity has also been restored. I had a box labelled 'Work in Progress'. In other words, 'I can't stand to look at this page', box. I grudgingly pulled out the contents and committed myself to finishing off these lonely souls. So I did it, and I must say am quietly stoked with this achievement!
